Antique Brass Order Code for this Finish: AB   //   Standard Metal Finish in Domestic Tapware Ranges   //   Non Tarnishing Finish Antique Brass (Gold) is a finish electroplated on to brass (like chrome) which has the appearance of freshly polished brass.

It does not look oxidised or tarnished in any way – it looks brand new.

The plated surface is made up of nickel and other inert metals in a carefully balanced formula, and includes gold. Being chemically inert, it does not tarnish (this is, discolour in the presence of air and moisture).

Polished Brass Order Code for this Finish: PB   //   Bespoke Metal Finish in All Ranges   //   Maturing Finish Brass is the basic material of our tapware, and in the course of manufacture the exterior parts are polished to a high lustre – hence Polished Brass.

Polished Brass quickly and easily reacts to air and moisture and this creates tarnishing, this can be left for a desired aging effect or can be removed by regular repolishing by the end user.

For brass polished to a low lustre see our Polish to Plate finish.

Raw Brass Order Code for this Finish: RB   //   Bespoke Metal Finish in All Ranges   //   Maturing Finish This is essentially the original brass as it is manufactured providing a very industrial look.

It will show weld marks and as different forms of brass are being used, the colour will differ throughout. Tubular pieces can have darker sections where it has been annealed to allow for bending. This finish is intended to provide a very rough look. The cleaner looking versions of this finish are Lea Wheeled Brass & Polish to Plate.

This finish is popular with heritage restorations and outdoor showers.

Please view the photo examples below to see some of the colour variations of this finish. We also recommend viewing the Architect & Designer Showcase gallery for further photos of this finish.

With this finish we highly recommend selecting the engraved button upgrade for tap handles.

Polish to Plate Order Code for this Finish: PP   //   Bespoke Metal Finish in All Ranges   //   Maturing Finish This finish is the same as Raw Brass except that the brass has been slightly polished ready for a plating process therefore a consistent rough colour is achieved. It is a cleaner finish than Raw Brass but still provides a rough look.

This finish is popular with heritage restorations and outdoor showers.

For brass polished to a high lustre see our Polished Brass finish.

For the closest non-tarnishing finish to Polish to Plate, please refer to our Dull Antique Brass finish.

Lea Wheeled Brass Order Code for this Finish: LW   //   Bespoke Metal Finish in All Ranges   //   Maturing Finish This is a new finish we are excited to be offering as of February 2018.

This finish is the similar to Polish to Plate (PP) except that the brass undergoes a different polishing method which leaves a less reflective surface courtesy of the soft brush marks on the brass. This finish achieves a consistent rough colour and has a beautiful texture. It is a cleaner finish than Raw Brass (RB) but provides a slightly less reflective initial look when compared to Polish to Plate.

This finish is suitable for heritage restorations with a contemporary twist, along with contemporary spaces where the brassware is intended to be a feature. It is also a suitable finish for use outdoors.

This finish is prepared in a similar manner as Lea Wheeled Brass (LW) but in addition to this it is chemically aged to provide a darker, weathered look. This finish achieves a consistently darker brass colour, it has a beautiful texture and is a cleaner looking finish than Raw Brass (RB).
