Made to Measure Tapware & Accessories

This FAQ forms part of our information regarding made to order items.

For more reading and information please refer to this page: Made to Order (Bespoke Items).

Question: Made to measure tapware. Is it possible to have outlets higher, lower, longer, shorter than shown on the website and how are they priced?
Answer: Certainly, we recognise that one size does not always fit all, there are some limitations with certain shapes. Please use this reference section as a guide and feel free to contact us for further information.

  Gooseneck Outlets
Outlet reach (the diameter of the arch) can vary up to around 10mm as this shape has a lot of spring in the material when fabricating.

The Outlet Reference Diagrams page on our website has some tables for guiding what some of the customisation options can be. You can request the key dimension to be to a certain length and we'll adjust the other dimensions to be proportioned to achieve it.

These customised outlets are priced on application. These are considered Special Orders.

The minimum reach for these outlets is 110mm Centre to Centre and the reach size increments are based on our bending form blocks.

  Upswept Outlets
Almost any reach can be achieved with this outlet shape, it is important that you specify the reach horizontally though, not along the upswept section of the tube. Height is also very flexible with this style.

If a steeper or flatter outlet is needed - a sketch with measurements is essential.

Question: Can shower arms be longer or shorter than those shown on the website?
Answer: Various shower arms can be made to different heights and lengths.

Ball Joint Shower Arms: Yes. Please provide a customer approved sketch for quotation and manufacture.
Adjustable Shower Arms: No.
Flamingo Shower Arms: Yes. Please provide a customer approved sketch for quotation and manufacture. This arm can be made more squarer also, please contact us for more information.
Gooseneck Shower Arms: Yes. Please provide a customer approved sketch for quotation and manufacture. These arms can be made up to 600mm in length without ceiling support. At more than 600mm ceiling support must be added as a shower arm of this length is really quite heavy when full of water.
Overhead Straight Arm: (This is also the style used on many of our exposed shower sets). Yes. Please provide a customer approved sketch for quotation and manufacture. These arms can be made up to 600mm in length without ceiling support. At more than 600mm ceiling support must be added as a shower arm of this length is really quite heavy when full of water.

Question: My house is on gravity fed tank water and I am concerned about flow.
Answer: Contact our Sales Office to discuss your exact situation and we'll provide advice to suit.

We generally recommend to avoid flick mixers in this scenario as the cartridges can be a point of restriction. We recommend using conventional standard action tapware or our Rapid Action tapware.

Question: Can pillarcocks be longer than shown on the website?
Answer: Generally no, the body is cast (one piece) and comes in one length only. There is one exception to this, the Forge Pattern Pillarcock can be made to different heights and reaches (codes are Roulette RU0084, Heritage HE0084 and Roulette Lever RL0584).

Other alternatives are using modified Drinking Water Pillar Taps or perhaps one of the taps from our laboratory offerings.

Question: Can items from several ranges be put together e.g. Heritage outlets with Roulette handles?
Answer: Yes. Pricing is on application.

Question: Are tapware installation instructions provided?
Answer: All tapware is to be installed by a qualified tradesperson (plumber) who would naturally be very familiar with the correct method of installing general tapware. Installation instructions for exposed sets are provided as a guide to the qualified tradesperson/installer who may be less familiar with this type of tapware. The Company accepts no responsibility for faulty installation but their trained personnel can provide advice by phone or email if there are difficulties.

Question: Can a cast diverter unit (e.g. codes HE9481, RU9481, RL9481) be fitted in place of a standard three piece bath set?
Answer: Yes, there are two ways of doing it:

1) Remove the bath set, including the in-wall plumbing and a few of the covering tiles, and start again with two water outlets.

2) Remove the exterior part of the bath set. Cap the central hole (where the bath spout was). Two fittings called 'wobble joints' must then be fitted along with 2 x 15 BSP x 18 BSP breaching piece nipples to the other two holes, and these convert the tap holes to fittings which are the same as the in-wall plumbing needed for the exposed set. At the same time the 'wobble joints' can be rotated so that the centre distances are right for a cast diverter. Install the diverter as per instructions.

We can also now make custom centre to centre distance diverters that do not require wobble joints. Please contact our sales department for pricing and lead times.

Caution: This general description should be taken as a guide only, and it is imperative that the possibilities - and the costs - are discussed with a qualified tradesperson as well as knowledgeable sales personnel.

Question: The tapware is needed very urgently. What can be done?
Answer: Locally: Arrangements can be made for the customer to call and collect from the Company's front counter. Please arrange the collection time before sending the customer to CB.

Interstate: Extra-fast freight service (airbag, overnight airfreight) is available at the customer's request and the customer's expense. This needs to be negotiated as early in the day as possible and preferably when the order is placed.

The turnaround times for Made to Order items depends on the requirements, quantities in question and the current factory work in process. With this said, we find our manufacture times for customized items to be incredibly competitive in the Australian market.
